WELFARE SCHEMES OF CHENNAI UNIT

1.YOUNG ACHIEVERS:

All children of our members will be eligible under this scheme.It is proposed to award 3 prizes.1at,2ns and 3rd for the outstanding performance in class X and class XII public examinations.For this purpose the present two Zones will be included and the 3 prizes mentioned above will be awarded in eachof two zones.

The value of the prizes will be-

1st prize- Rs.250

2nd prize Rs.150

3rd prize Rs.100

ELIGIBILITY:

  1. children studying in State Board/CBSE/Matriculation syllabus are eligible to apply

  2. They should have secured Minimum aggregate Marks of 65% in the Final Examination and needless to mention it must be their first appearance in that examination.

The Staff member should apply with a xerox copy of the mark sheet through the Branch Secretary to the Union Head Quarters within a month from the date of publication of the results of the said examinations.
If two or more students become eligible for the same prize by virtue of equal marks ,each one of them will be awarded a prize. The prize value will not be shared.
Apart from this, any meritorious student in the fields of both education and sports at the State level and the National level will be awarded a prize of Rs.500 in addition to the prize mentioned above.
University rank holder in Graduation/Post Graduation/Professional courses will be awarded a prize of Rs.250.Similarly in sports mere participation in the Sate/National level will entail a prize.If one has participated in more than one event in the State/National level in the same year, he is eligible for one prize of Rs.250- and Rs.500- respectively

    2. 25 NOT OUT

completion of 25 years of continuous service is definitely a milestone in the career of an employee. To commemorate this event, our Union will present a memento to the member concerned .A silver medallion with our Union name and logo engraved on it will be presented along with a shawl on the day the member completes 25 years of services.

Branches would inform the Union Head Quarters in advance so that the memento can be sent to the branches concerned and presented on the date the member completes 25 years of service.

3. ADIEU

Retirement is an inevitable thing in the career of an employee. This Union is interested in the welfare of an employee not only while he is in service but after he has retired from active service.

To mark the occasion of retirement, a memento and with a shawl will be given to the retiring employee. The value of the memento will be Rs.1000.

1.Themember may buy an article of his choice. Under no circumstances will cash/gift cheques can be paid.

2.As far as possible our Union’s name will be engraved on the memento.

3.Branches should inform the Union Head Quarters in advance and get suitable sanction so that the memento can be presented on the date the member retires.

Similarly, a memento of the value of Rs.101 will be presented to the retiree under the Bank’s Voluntary Retirement Scheme.

4. WE SHARE ALWAYS

Births and deaths are generally not under our control and more so with the latter. Death of an employee while in service has serious repercussions to his family. Our Union is here not only to hare our happiness/achievements with our members ,but also to share their grief. It is proposed to make an immediate (one time) payment of Rs.1000 to the family of the deceased member. It will be paid to the next of kin of the deceased employee. Branch secretaries are instructed to pay the amount immediately and seek reimbursement from the Union Head Quarters

5. DOUBLE BLESSEDNESS

It is proposed to give a cash gift of Rs.101/- to an employee at the time of his/her marriage

In the case of marriage outside caste barriers(as per government norms)the amount of gift will be Rs.250.

If a member takes a less fortunate handicapped personas spouse, he/she will get a gift of Rs.250

A gift of Rs.101- will be given on the occasion of marriage of one daughter/son of our members.

6. 'BOIASU’PERFORMER

So long we were content to be on the staff of a prestigious banking institution. But in the changed economic scenario of our country viz-a-viz the global developments, we are put in a situation where complacency will spell our extinction. To survive e in the present situation as a viable banking institution, it is imperative that we strain our nerves to the utmost to sustain a rate of growth hitherto unthought of. This is possible only if we earnestly resolve to put our shoulders to the wheel and give a big heave. Customer service has assumed enormous importance in the changed scenario and in its absence, we will lose our clientele to the other more enterprising competitors in the field of banking. So, comrades, we have to rise to the occasion to save ourselves, our bank and our motherland from economic oblivion.

Instead of passive participation in the progress of the Bank, our Union would like its members to evince keen interest and involvement in it. To promote this prerequisite for interdependent improvement, motivation in the form of cash awards and recognition from the Union are offered The following prizes are proposed for Business Development in the fields of-

a.Deposit mobilization

b.NPA recovery

Also a special prize of Rs.500 and Rs.250 will be given to the winner of and runner from amongst the members who have marketed the schemes of our Bank under deposit mobilization and also who have recovered the maximum amount under NPA recovery annually.

HONESTY AND INTEGRITY

Honesty and Integrity of the employees is of paramount importance. Acts of honesty will be rewarded with a r\prize of Rs.51 per occasion. The eligibility criterion for Business Development and acts of honesty is the publication of the name of the concerned member in one of our house journals ‘TELLER” OR ‘SOUTHERN STAR’

The above gift cheques will be accompanied by a printed citation signed by the President and the General Secretary of the Union.

7. YOUR REST-WE CARE AND SHARE

Rest and recuperation are essential for rejuvenation. LFC Scheme takes care of only the traveling expenses. Holiday Homes have been established from the Welfare Fund by the Bank. However the rentals for these Holiday Homes have been revised upwards by the management frequently. As a goodwill gesture and to reduce the financial strain on holidaying members of our Union .It is proposed to make a payment of Rs.50 per day per member (maximum of 4 days) occupying the Holiday Homes as per the Bank’s norms in a block of two years

8.COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL GOALS

Burgeoning the India’s population has focused even the world’s attention on us. By the turn of the century it is estimated that India will outdo the most populous China of today. To counter this threat the Government of India has been making enormous efforts. As a squirrel’s part in the construction of Lord Rama’s bridge across the ocean to Ceylon, our Union has proposed the payment of an incentive of Rs.101 to the member under the same norms as prescribed the Bank.

9. HAPPY NEAR YEAR

A suitable gift will be sent to all members of our union on the eve of every New Year

10.A FRIEND IN NEED

As a mark of our concern for the less fortunate and the deprived ,we shall commemorate the foundation day of our Union (18th February) every year by donating a sum of Rs.1001 to a suitable non government voluntary organization engaged in social and charitable work.
